Born on 1 June 1936 in Panevėžys region into the family of farmers.
In 1955 finished Panevėžys secondary school.
In 1958finished Joniškėlis technical College of Agriculture.
In 1960-1965 - studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture, acquired the specialisation of an agronomist.
In 1958-1960 - worked as a chief agronomist on Sodeliai collective farm in Panevėžys region.
In 1961-1963 - Chairman of the Board of Maženiai collective farm .
In 1964-1969 - a chief agronomist of the collective farm, Deputy Chairman.
I 1970-1979 - Chief agronomist of Kupiškis Agriculture Management.
In 1980 - appointed Chairman of Agrochemical Union, Deputy chairman of the Agriculture Management.
In 1981-1991 - Chairman of the Board of Antašava collective farm.
In 1991 - in restructuring agriculture, was appointed temporary administrator, later - elected Chairman of the Board of Agriculture Union Antašavos centras.
1958-1970 - deputy to Karsakiškis district of Panevėžys region.
In 1981-1986 - Deputy to Antašava district.
In 1986-1992 - Deputy to Kupiškis region Council.
The Seimas member since 1992.
Member of the Presidium of the Farmers Union, merited agronomist of the LSSR. Awarded the name of the merited cultural worker.
Former member of the CPSU, Chairman of the Lithuanian Farmers Party.
Married. Has two sons.
A member of the Seimas Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.
